Privacy Policy

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 established national standards for protecting health information. These standards include the Privacy Rule, which protects the privacy of health information, and the Security Rule, which protects the security of electronic health information (ePHI):

  • HIPAA Privacy Rule

Protects the privacy of health information, including medical records, billing records, and insurance information. It gives patients rights to access and obtain copies of their health records, request corrections, and direct covered entities to transmit electronic copies of their health information.

  • HIPAA Security Rule

Protects the security of ePHI, including its confidentiality, integrity, and availability. It requires covered entities to implement administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect ePHI.
